I am the son of a personal injury trial lawyer who made sure my pee wee basketball jersey was 33 1/3. Like most kids, I repelled from doing what was suggested and I never wanted to be a trial lawyer. After earning an undergraduate degree in Finance and Marketing from Syracuse University, I started working as a stockbroker’s assistant. I quickly realized Wall Street was not for me and I went to law school where my dad went, Brooklyn Law.
Upon graduation, I joined his firm and picked my first jury the day after I was admitted. I must admit, my dad was right, and I love the practice of law. After trying dozens of cases for 5 years, I went back to school for an Executive MBA where I used the program to workshop systems for a professional service firm. The systems developed permitted me to grow my dad’s firm from one office in one location and hour North of NYC to five separate law firms in four states with over 20 offices. Throughout the business expansion I always stayed close to the court room and still try catastrophic cases.
Professionally, I spend a lot of time mentoring and teaching. I frequently lecture on all aspects of trial and various trial lawyer associations. As a founding member of Trial School, I am actively involved in both the planning and presentation of continuing legal education programs. When not working I enjoy travelling, hiking, playing any racquet sport and just hanging out with my wife and three kids.
